Kings blog: City of Sacramento directs Anaheim to stop negotiations with Kings

Sacramento city officials Monday fired off a terse letter to the city of Anaheim warning it to cease negotiations with the Sacramento Kings.

Kings Blog: City taps law firm to review Kings loan

Saying they are seeking to protect the city financially should the Kings leave town, Sacramento officials have hired a specialist law firm to help enforce a legal requirement that the Kings pay off their $67 million city loan.



After 25 years, the Kings’ home in Natomas will get a new name on March 1: Power Balance Pavilion, named after the sports bracelets used by athletes such as Shaquille O’Neal and Drew Brees.

City Beat: If Kings leave, can Charlotte teach us how to get the NBA back?

In yet another sign he is operating under the assumption the Kings are leaving, Mayor Kevin Johnson told reporters today that he has arranged to speak with the former mayor of Charlotte, N.C., about how that city dealt with losing an NBA franchise – then getting a team back.
