A worker removes letters for what has been the name of the Kings’ Sacramento homes since the NBA franchise came to town in 1985. The new name, Power Balance Pavilion, after a company that makes a sports wristband that purportedly helps an athlete’s performance, is to become official March 1. Maloof Sports and Entertainment, which owns the team and the building, hasn’t decided what to do with the Arco Arena lettering from the four sides of the building. Selling the rights to an arena’s name was almost unknown when the Kings first arrived and played in a 10,333-seat building that was replaced by the current 17,300-seat Kings arena in 1988. The old deal with Arco was for $750,000 per year. The financial details of the new name have not been disclosed.
